Family Fun - Walks in Wales

Llyn Crafnant (Lake Crafnant)

We love the outdoors, and we make it our priority to have a day out each weekend. We don’t spend much money and we always take a picnic, however we usually treat the kids to a sweet treat or ice-cream if we can.

We love walking in Welsh Beauty spots, last weekend we picked Llyn Crafnant in Snowdonia National Park, North Wales. This is a very family friendly walk, even our two year old was able to walk most of the way, but it is also accessible for pushchairs.

The walk is approximately 2.5 miles around the lake but has lots of spots next to the water for picnics, sunbathing, and relaxation. Wherever you go hiking in this area the views are stunning.

My husband often disappears to Lake Crafnant for a spot of Trout Fishing, day permits are available at the café, which was closed this visit. The people who run the café are a very friendly bunch. The lake stocks Brown trout and Rainbow trout.

Remember to take a change of clothes for the little ones in case they decide to jump/fall in the lake!!!

This is definitely a spot we would recommend for a family day out in North Wales.
